Purefoods Crisp'n Juicy Drummets

Purefoods has come out with frozen boneless chicken that can be cooked by deep frying or poppiong it into an oven toaster.  It also comes with a gravy mix that is diluted in water.  The end product after deep frying.

The package suggests getting crispy chicken minus the bones.  It was indeed crispy and juicy but a bit too salty for me.  My husband didn't enjoy it either. He said he could taste the powder.  I guess we won't be buying this on our next trip to the grocery.

Jonas

While I was still working for a telecoms company in Pioneer, we used to walk to the nearby Robinsons Mall for lunch.  Last month, hubby and I had to run an errand in that same mall and I was glad that Jonas was still around.

The self service set up, wooden tables and benches reminded me of school canteens and cafeterias.

Goodles

Goodles is perfect for pasta lovers who are always on the go.  It's strategically located on the top floor of Robinsons Galleria, providing moviegoers with an alternative to the usual popcorn, nachos or fastfood fare.

Beef Steak with Eggplants

Here's another great way to prepare beef steak.  Throw in lots of eggplants which soak up the sauce.  My mother in law used to prepare eggplants beef steak style so I decided to put the two things together.

I used the same recipe for the Beef Steak with Potato Wedges but skipped the parts for the potatoes.  I cut the eggplants into rounds and let them simmer in the sauce together with the onions.

Mexicali

I just love promos and freebies.  Our dinner date at Mexicali was absolutely free thanks to another credit card promo.

I was fully satisfied with my Grilled Chicken Rice Plate.  According to the servers, this is their best seller among the rice plates.  The smokey chicken pieces were very tasty and went well with the rice.  The salsa and salad were light.  It was worth the wait considering we had to follow it up at least 2 times and it was served around 10 minutes after the burrito.

Hubby's Roast Pork Burrito was ok but it was mostly stuffed with rice.  I snagged a few pieces of his chips and salsa.

Sumo Sam

Last year, I was hooked on surfing group buying websites.  I immediately grabbed the 50% voucher for Sumo Sam as soon as I spotted it.  Every time we're in Shangrila, my husband keeps saying that he wants to eat there again so the timing for the offer was perfect.  We dined there in November just before the voucher expired.

We started our meal with the Las Vegas Roll that had crabstick, scallops and melt in your mouth cheese.

The Shoyu Ramen came in a jumbo bowl and is definitely meant for sharing. The pork broth was good and soothing.  The pork slices were soft and reminded me of ham.

Rice in Ampalaya Silog

Pancake House has come out with dishes inspired by the show Junior Master Chef Pinoy Edition.  I have been able to catch tidbits of a few episodes but I'm more familiar with the Australian version.

Lumpia ShangHai

We chanced upon this stall outside Robinsons Supermarket in Galleria.  Who would have thought that Adobo Flavored Lumpia would actually taste good?  It was served with sweet chili sauce which was weird at first but it eventually grew on me.  The Original Lumpia ShangHai was just average.  Not bad for a P29 snack.  Maybe I'll try ths Spicy Sisig Lumpia next time.

*I tried the Spicy Sisig Lumpia last March and it was interesting but I still prefer the Adobo Flavored Lumpia.  I was at Galleria last April 17 and the Lumpia ShangHai stall has been replaced with another food stall.

Sambo Kojin

Have you visited Sambo Kojin lately?  I was at the Eastwood branch last December and noticed that the sushi, sashimi and raw food are now placed in open chillers.
