Screamers Italian Ice

When I spotted the ultra colorful Screamers Italian Ice stall, I automatically assumed that it was another ice cream kiosk.  I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they were serving gourmet frozen desserts made primarily of fruits plus it was dairy free, cholesterol free and fat free.

I had a hard time choosing my flavor because I'm not a fruit eater.  I kept pacing from one end of the counter to the other until I settled on the blueberry.  It didn't look that pretty but it sure tasted good.

The Green Apple Smash looked more appealing with that bright green color.  

It was no surprise that my favorite among the 3 flavors we tried was the Mango Blast.  Ripe yellow mangoes are my first options when offered fruits.  The Mango Blast reminded hubby of fresh mango shakes.

One scoop of this dessert would cost P45 for the classic flavors - Mango Blast, Cotton Candy Puff, Bubble Gum Boom - and P60 for the supreme flavors - Strawberry Loud, High Peach, Blueberry Cheers, Green Apple Smash.  If you're going with a group of people, you might want to share a cup since you would be able to save more versus paying for 3 seperate orders.  I didn't study the menu/price list so this is something I just realized now.    

I was expecting a frozen dessert that was mostly crushed flavored ice.  Screamers Italian Ice had a slightly creamy consistency similar to ice cream.  There were fruit bits mixed in as well.  I'm glad hubby and I shared a scoop as the sweetness was a bit overwhelming and my tastebuds were searching for something salty afterwards.  Diabetics should take this in moderation.  Screamers italian ice is a good alternative to ice cream and the perfect dessert for health conscious folks who love fruits.
