My Kitchen by Chef Chris

Just like any other holiday or special occasion, mother's day weekend was hectic for us.  My sister and I were in Bulacan the previous week campaigning full force for our uncle.  The parentals picked us up saturday night (the last day for campaigning) and brought over Purple Oven cakes.  Sunday lunch was with my in laws in Nanbantei of Tokyo (food photos on my instagram page or read about my first visit here) to celebrate mother's day and my niece's 3rd birthday.  Sunday dinner was with my mom's side of the family and since we were pretty late I wasn't able to take any photos.  Monday, election day, was a holiday so we had a post mother's day celebration with my immediate family at My Kitchen by Chef Chris.

This was hubby and my first time to troop all the way to The Oasis Paco Park Hotel.  My family immensely enjoyed their previous visits that they always purchase Deal Grocer vouchers whenever they're available.  We used up 2 panizza vouchers and sampled the Paco and the Verena.
Original Paco P790
fine slices of herbed chicken fillet, smoked bacon, portabello and golden mushrooms, capers and slices of kalamata olives

Original Verena P790
tomato and white truffle oil enhanced cheese sauce topped with scallops, prawns and sun dried tomatoes
If you're familiar with Yellow Cab's Dear Darla (something hubby and I always order), these are way way better.  I loved the crunch of the thinly sliced cheesy flavorful panizzas and would order them again.  I had my hands dirty after adding the veggies and handlig the panizza so I don't have a photo of the rolled up thing.

The Risotto Pollo E Fungi like all other risottos was very heavy and filling.  I enjoyed the creaminess and cheesiness of this dish.
Risotto Pollo E Fungi P650
pan roasted chicken fillet and assorted mushrooms blend to perfection in parmesan butter risotto with fresh herbs

My second favorite dish from our lunch spread was the Slow Roasted Lamb Ribs with Garlic and Rosemary Rub.  It was so tender and did not have that icky slimy taste that I usually associate with lamb.
Slow Roasted Lamb Ribs with Garlic and Rosemary Rub P1,100
accompanied by braised lentils, olive fried potatoes and italian style broccoli (good to share for 2 to 3 persons)

The Spaghetti con Frutti di Mare was overflowing with seafood.  I think there was way more seafood than noodles.  This was a very sulit you-get-your-money's-worth pasta dish!
Spaghetti con Frutti di Mare P720
a blend of fresh salmon, dorado, snapper, prawns and imported mussels sauteed with light virgin olive oil, tomatoes, olives and capers

I truly enjoyed everything we ordered and I want to try the other panizza flavors.  My grumbling tummy was filled to capacity and I even skipped dinner  (and my midnight snack) since we had a late lunch.  I'm sure my family will still be on the lookout for more Deal Grocer offerings for My Kitchen by Chef Chris.  For Ortigas area people who think that Makati/Fort is far, driving all the way to Paco for a meal like this really is something else.
