Norbest Turkey with Tender Timer

After more than 20 years in Chicago, my husband's grandparents came home to Manila.  So for the past few years that we've been celebrating Christmas and New Years with them, we've always had turkey.

As December slowly rolls in, we start our hunt for the frozen turkey with the pop out timer.  The red pin pops up when the turkey is cooked.  Our past purchases were from S&R in the Fort and Rustan's in Power Plant Mall Rockwell.  This year, we combed through the different groceries for 2 straight weekends and finally hit the jackpot at Unimart in Greenhills.  We brought home this 5.7kg turkey which cost P1,255.

We stashed the turkey in the freezer since Christmas was weeks away.  We defrosted it in the ref more than 2 days before we needed it.  Mom lined the bottom of the roasting pan with baby potatoes and slathered the whole turkey with lots of butter.

The finished product after around 3 and a half hours.  She garnished the turkey with potatoes, carrots, cauliflower and broccoli that were cooked in chicken broth.

Oh and I just had to take a picture of this :)
