Hainanese Delights

Another new alternative to the usual fastfood fare has popped up in our area. I've seen Hainanese Delights in Galleria and I've always been intrigued if it was anything like the Hainanese Chicken I had in Singapore last September.

This huge wall poster gives a brief background on Hainan Rice.

We prepared our sauces while waiting for our food.  I got some of the soy sauce and ginger sauce.  Hubby added chili to his.

First to arrive was the Tofu Terrific which had a crunch to it.  The inside was soft but not too mushy.  The sauce was sweet.

Large bits of tender tofu with a little bite, immersed in an addicting sweet soy sauce concoction.

I ordered the Hainanese Delights which was tender and full of flavor but a bit sweet.  Both the rice and chicken were yellow.  It looked nothing like the steamed hainanese chicken I had in Singapore but it was pretty good.

The staple dish is a perfectly seasoned and tender chicken plus the equally delicious Hainanese rice

My husband enjoyed his Hainan Fried Chicken which tasted like my order except for the crispy skin.

This deep fried chicken is a tasty dish with a delicious sauce and a side of Hainanese rice

All rice dishes like the Hainanese Delights and Hainan Fried Chicken come with unlimited servings of the very addicting Hainan Rice.

Hainanese rice is a deliciously flavored creation soaked in savory stock that gives it a delightfully rich taste.

The fried Kutchay Kraze was fine.

Healthy and mouth watering, the steamed or fried kutchay dumpling is quite a treat.

I love how they put a creative spin to the name of their dishes - Pork Passionate, Hot Chick, Take the Cake, Eat the Heat and so on.  I would definitely go back for the Hainan Rice and maybe try the noodle dishes especially since prices are very reasonable.
